Text to type: Iron Man is a superhero from Marvel Comics. Under the metal, he is a normal man. His name is Tony Stark, and his full name is Anthony Edward Stark. Tony is very rich, and he is also a genius. He is an inventor and an engineer. That means he designs machines and builds them with his own hands. Tony does not have magic. He does not come from space. His power is his powered armor suit. This suit is a strong metal body that he wears. It lets him fly, and it protects him. In the comics, the armor is red and gold. So when we talk about Iron Man, we really talk about two things at the same time: the smart man inside, and the suit he made.

Part 2: How the Comic Was Created
Typing practice
Type the text exactly. Timer starts with your first key.
Text to type: Iron Man was made by a small team at Marvel Comics. Stan Lee was the editor, and he had the first idea for the character. Larry Lieber wrote the words of the first story. Don Heck drew the story and designed how Tony Stark looked. Jack Kirby designed the cover and the first armor. So four people worked together, and each one added one piece. Iron Man first appeared in a comic book called Tales of Suspense. This was a Marvel series with many short stories in one book. Iron Man was in issue number 39. The cover date was March 1963. After that, Iron Man returned in more Tales of Suspense stories and later series.

Text to type: Now let us look at the story itself. A good way to follow it is this: problem, invention, result. First, the problem. Tony Stark is a rich weapon maker. He goes to a war zone, and he is hurt and taken captive. He is a prisoner, and he is badly injured. Next, the invention. Tony is still an engineer, even in a prison. He works in secret with the parts around him. He builds a heavy metal suit to keep his body alive and to fight his way out. Then, the result. He escapes in the armor, and he goes home a changed man. He becomes Iron Man. This is why armor and technology are the heart of the character. Tony does not find his power. He builds it, step by step, with his mind.

Part 4: How the 2008 Film Was Made
Typing practice
Type the text exactly. Timer starts with your first key.
Text to type: Many years later, the story moved to the cinema. The film Iron Man came out in the United States on May 2, 2008. Jon Favreau was the director. Robert Downey Jr. played Tony Stark and Iron Man. The film was made by Marvel Studios, and it was their first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU. The film follows the same problem, invention, result idea from the comics. Tony is captured, he builds a suit, and he becomes a hero. To show the suit on screen, the team used two ways together. Actors wore real armor costumes for some scenes. For other scenes, the suit was made with computer effects, called CGI. A company named Industrial Light and Magic did much of this work. Real parts and computer parts were mixed, so the armor looked heavy and real.

Typing practice
Type the text exactly. Timer starts with your first key.
Text to type: Iron Man is not only a hero alone. In the comics, he was one of the founding members of the Avengers. The Avengers are a team of Marvel heroes who fight together. So from early on, Iron Man fought both alone and with that team. The 2008 film had a similar job on screen. It was the first MCU film, and it helped start the shared Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Avengers film era. The smart inventor, the red and gold armor, and the first MCU film kept Iron Man in view for years.
